The "FireSmart" program has identified that appropriately managing wildfire requires balancing its natural role with the protection of human life and property.  The Wildland Urban Interface is the area where homes meet the forest or other vegetation.  FireSmart guidelines have been developed to lessen a home or neighbourhoods vulnerability to a wildfire. With Local FireSmart Representative Certification granted by FireSmart Canada, CIS can support the efforts of individual landowners or groups of homeowners wanting to become "FireSmart".  Working with individual homeowners to complete FireSmart Home Assessments or supporting neighbourhoods achieve FireSmart Canada Neighbourhood Recognition is a role for Certified Incident Support Inc
